Introduction

Originally founded in 2006 as a holding company for several entrepreneurial business ventures, Adler Technik became the medium through which its founders could apply their knowledge and experience in the development of [business] processes and systems.  Steadily it became apparent that the need for such services, along with strategic planning and technology integration, are more prevalent in a wider customer base.  Thus the once conceived ‘holding company’ systematically transformed into a small, yet able and agile, strategic and technical service provider.

Heading towards the future, Adler Technik has begun to spread its wings to focus on the development of the following core services:

Services Application

As a business expands it outgrows its initial processes by which it used to run so well.  At the same time the applied technology infrastructure also ages and the associated problems are evident with daily operational issues emerging.  However, the operational and strategic heads of the business are just too busy addressing staff issues, back orders or attending to new customers to have the time and/or the energy to ‘(re)engineer’ the business’ processes and/or systems; while uncomfortably knowing that postponement will just result in the inevitable – loss of control!

Therefore it is imperative to recognise that the processes through which a business operates, be it physical or administrative, are ‘alive’ and need to be ‘nurtured’, otherwise these processes will die and fall apart.  However this ‘caring practice’ does not always come naturally from within a company and sometimes requires an external and systemic approach to revise existing processes and/or implement new systems.

Whether it is the implementation of a simple stock control process required for the ‘one man and a 50 parts warehouse’ or a project administration system for the ‘250 strong engineering team of an automobile manufacturer’; Adler Technik have the right approach, skills and partners to design the process, develop a system and implement/integrate the appropriate technology.  Not bound by a specific brand, product or technology, the approach is always in direct correlation with what the (customer’s) business needs are to ensure success and long term sustainability.

Past Projects

Past and present customers include information based organisations and manufacturing companies in the automotive, aerospace, chemical and FMCG industries.  Some of the projects are:

Work Method / Project Approach

Projects are typically packaged around the customer’s needs, commencing with an appropriate needs assessment, resulting in a specified and documented set of objectives.  Logically, fundamental principles and proven methods are applied to obvious problems; while the more peculiar challenges will be met with creative and innovative solutions.  At all times the importance of cost and operational efficiency are understood and pertinently taken into account.

Tariff/Cost Structure

Generally projects are executed while governed by a ‘time and material’ contract, as per the prevailing rates (available upon request).  Other costing methods, such as ‘fixed price’ contracts, can also be negotiated.  In any event, the options are flexible and adjustable to suit the customer’s requirements.

The applicable hourly rates will include travelling within a 100km radius from Pretoria and thus basically all road travelling within the Gauteng province are included and not charged for on a distance basis.  Travel time is charged though.  All other required travel costs are for the customer’s account.

Furthermore, the provision of basic ICT infrastructure for a consultant is also included in the applicable rates, while the provision of basic office infrastructure is expected from the customer at its site.  All other expenses required are for the customer’s account, but will be negotiated during the contracting phase, depending on each project’s requirements.
